Holi wouldn't be holi without a glass of this very special cooler, Thandai! With the grand festival upon us it's time to bring out those Kulhads & the packet of Rose Petals that stays tucked in for special occasions.
Thandai is a traditional Indian drink that is mostly served during Holi all over India. Most places make a cannabis-infused 'Bhang Thandai', but BOH decided to make 'Rose Thandai' for this Holi. A glass full of this delicious & refreshing drink is all you need this summer!
Milk 2.5 Cups
Sugar 1/2 Cup
Almonds 20 pieces
Pistachios 15 pieces
BOH Melon Seeds 1.5 Tbsp
Poppy Seeds 1 Tbsp
Fennel Seeds 1 Tbsp
Dried Rose Petals (Optional) A handful
Saffron (Optional) Few Strands
PREPERATION Step 1 Take a warm cup of Water and soak in the Almonds, Pistachios, BOHMelon Seeds, Poppy Seeds, Fennel Seeds and Dried Rose Petals in it for about 1-2 hours. Step 2 Once soaked, make a coarse paste in a blender. Step 3 Add Milk, Sugar and the Thandai Paste in a pan and bring to a boil. Once the sugar dissolves completely, turn off the flame and let it sit for 60 minutes. Step 4 Refrigerate for about 4-5 hours to really infuse the flavour before straining it.
Once its chilled, strain it using a sieve Step 6
Garnish with some Dried Rose Petals & Saffron & serve chilled! Cheers & A Happy Holi!
